Anika Noni is an American performer and singer. Best known as the character voiced by Tiana In The Princess and the Frog The first African American Disney princess. Disney Legends named her as one in 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robinson in from the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1973) is an American performer and singer. She was best known for her character Tiana, the Disney Princess. She is the first African American Princess to appear in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. Her other notable roles include her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) as well as for being the character LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on The Starz show Power. Her name has been praised for her theatre performances, such as her starring parts as Caroline or Change Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway in which her Tony Award was won for Best Actress in Musical.
