Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds a Outstanding Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is credited for starting the modern study of children's memory and eyewitness testimony, as well as the role of children as victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman has published numerous papers, received many grants and been recognized with numerous national and international distinctions. She has provided advice to numerous government organizations and government agencies throughout the world regarding policies and studies pertaining to the way children are treated by the justice system. She acts as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology for Women and Traumatic Stress). Additionally, she is a founding participant of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Division as well as Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family the Practice and Policy.
